It reduces hair and clears red vessels and brown spots.
Hair, small red vessels and sun spots all hold colour a laser can find. The excel HR laser heats that colour while a cold tip protects your skin, so it works on every skin tone. Brown spots flake off in 1 to 2 weeks. Redness fades over a few weeks. Hair takes 6 to 8 sessions.

Your skin tone sets the wavelength
Skin type, recent sun exposure and the concern being treated decide which of the two wavelengths is used and how hard it is driven. On deeper skin the longer wavelength is the default, not an exception.

Side effects, and who it is not for
Nothing is injected and the skin is not broken. The risks come from light absorbed by skin rather than by its target, which is exactly what the wavelength choice and the cooling exist to prevent.

Yes, and that is the point of the longer of its two wavelengths. Less of it is absorbed by the pigment sitting at the surface, so more of the pulse reaches the follicle. Combined with the chilled window held against the skin throughout, this is what makes treatment possible across every skin tone rather than only the lightest.
Less than most people expect, because the tip is cold against the skin before and after every pulse. The sensation is a brief snap through that cold. Coarse areas sting more than fine ones, and no anaesthetic is needed.
It depends on which concern you are treating. Brown spots and visible vessels usually take two to four sessions. Hair takes six to eight, because it follows the growth cycle and each session only reaches the follicles that happen to be growing. If you are treating both, the hair course is the one that sets the length of the plan.
It treats the visible vessels that cause the redness, which is not the same as curing rosacea. That is a condition that is managed rather than cured. Broken capillaries and diffuse flushing both respond well, usually over two to four sessions, and the result holds as long as new vessels do not form.
Probably not, and heat can make melasma worse rather than better. Melasma sits deeper than a sun spot, is driven by hormones as much as by sun, and tends to return. It is handled with a different plan (peels and a picosecond laser), and your practitioner will tell you which of the two your pigment actually is.
Often, yes: it is the same handpiece at a different setting. Hair and brown spots on the same area are routinely done together. A vascular treatment is sometimes separated out because the redness afterwards makes it harder to judge the rest. Your practitioner will set the order and quote it as one plan.
It is the same platform used at a much lower, repeated setting, warming the skin diffusely instead of hitting a single target. It is used for overall texture, enlarged pores, fine lines and background redness, it has no downtime at all, and it is done as a short course rather than a single session.
